Clothesline Photo Gallery
by Laura Brunow Miner, Design Director at JPG Magazine
It seems such a shame that in this era of digital photography we have fewer photos of friends and family printed out. It seems like if someone doesn't hand us an envelope of photo prints, we often forget to put these memories up in our home.
Well here's a little incentive to do some printing and put some photos up in your home. Clipping up photos along a string or wire is nothing new (we have even printed a story on it before!) but here's a fun twist:
Take a piece of clothesline and tie it to a hook in your ceiling or high up on your wall, or if you have crown moulding, you can use a crown moulding clip. Next you can tie the other end of the line to the leg of a piece of furniture (dresser, bed, couch) or fasten it with another hook low on the wall.
Once you have your clothesline tied tightly, add some photos and clothespins. Try combining color with black and white images, and different shapes and sizes. This method is a cozy touch for any room and works great in tight spaces where you might not be able to fit anything else.
Once you're happy with the arrangement, don't forget to mix it up! Adding new photos every few months is part of the fun.
