I've always loved these photo playing cards on the Activity Center. You can add your own photos, text and special overlays and print them from home!

A few months ago I personalized a full set of cards and laminated them at my local copy shop so we can actually use them as playing cards.

I love the photos I used of my dog (Ms. Kitty) - so I actually printed a few more to frame and place in my office. This image shows the Queen & Joker versions. I love how she looks like she's lauging on the Joker card!

I decided that I'm going to make a deck for each of my sister's this year for Christmas and customize with photos of them and their families.

I think I might even embellish the wrapping paper by making a special "hand" to represent their family ... My little sister has a "full house" so I'll use a picture of her and her daughter as the Queen's and use pictures of her husband and two boys as the Kings. My older sister has a family of four and they are all major outdoor enthusiasts ... so of course, it'll be 4 of a kind!

A lot of people love the site http://www.palaimoncards.com for professional custom playing cards.

They print it on an HP Indigo press for amazing print quality and apply the high gloss card finish to protect the art as well as enhance durability and card feel.

Check the site out if your interested in personalized playing cards

I love the concept, but I'm having a hard time seeing how you could actually use these. OK, so you print and laminate them. Then you cut them out with scissors? Every card would be a different size. Shuffling would be a nightmare. Even with just standard lamination, I'd think the cards would be too fat and stiff to be playable. Great novelty item, but unless somebody has some great ideas, I can't see how you could actually make this into a functional deck of cards.
