This is a fun craft to do with your kids and it makes a great gift! - Sue Martin

Handprint flower with photoThis is a project that I did with my son's kindergarten class. It's fun and easy and the kids love making as a gift for their parents, grandparents, or a favorite person in their lives. The little flower pot can be purchased at a craft store such as Michaels, for anywhere from $.29-1.29, depending on the size of the pot.

What you need:

1. Flower pot
2. Florist foam
3. Wooden dowel, 1/4" diameter
4. Spanish moss
5. Construction paper, green and white
6. Paint for the flower and green paint for the stem
7. Assorted buttons, flowers, or other embellishments
8. Photo
9. 2" circle punch (or cut out by hand)

Do it yourself:
Have the child choose a paint color that they'd like for the hand print. Spread some paint on a piece of tin foil or freezer paper. Have the child put his hand in the paint, and then "stamp" his hand print onto the white construction paper. After the paint dries, have him cut out the hand print. Punch out the photo and glue it onto the hand print. Paint the dowel green, and after it dries, cut out green leaves and glue them onto the stem, along with the hand print. Cut a small piece of foam and press it into the pot. Put some glue on the end of the stem and insert it into the foam, all the way to the bottom of the pot. Spread some glue on top of the foam and add a small amount of Spanish moss. Decorate the pot with buttons and embellishments.
