Holiday Recipe Cards

A great gift to give at the beginning of the holiday season

I am not what one might call a "crafty" person. Therefore, if I am going to make a gift for someone, it must meet two important criteria: easy and edible. This year, using a recipe my mom gave me and a template from HP's Activity Center, I have everything I need to whip up an awesome gift.

Holiday Recipe Cards The first thing I did was create unique holiday recipe cards by following the step-by-step instructions found on the Activity Center. I was able to copy and paste my mom's "Wall Street Kisses" cookie recipe onto the card, along with my own photo and a holiday greeting. There are several themes and options that you can customize, so you can truly make a personalized gift for each of your family and friends.

Once I finished the layout, I printed the cards on 4x6 photo paper and then triumphantly pumped my fist in the air because, really, that was way too easy.
Holiday Recipe Cards Next, I moved on to phase two of the gift: actually making the cookies. By giving both the recipe and the finished product, the gift provides immediate gratification and a project the recipients can do on their own.

I've decided to start giving out this gift right at the beginning of the holiday season. Why? Well, for starters, it's never too early to get a holiday treat. And, because I chose a recipe that is so easy to make, I know all of the mothers in my life will enjoy making these cookies with their kids. Who knows, they may also choose to give these cookies out as gifts (which technically is stealing my idea, but with the spirit of giving in mind, I'll let that slide).

Want to try my Wall Street Kisses? Just send a message to my Wetpaint account and I'll pass along the recipe.
So, now it's your turn. Go to the Activity Center and make your own recipe card. Or, if you have a whole collection of recipes to share, check out this page on how to create a cookbook. When you're done, you can show off the finished product in our project gallery.
