Jane Price - The HP Community Wiki Retirement is great – finally time to play! I worked as an art teacher, then in sales & marketing. Since retiring, I work part-time at Sewing Machines Etcetera in Burlington Ontario, teaching sewing, quilting and fibre arts.
Printing photographs on inkjet fabric with my HP Photosmart printer allows me to personalize my quilts & people are amazed at the quality. The photos are crisp, bright and do not fade.
The purchase of my embroidery machine added another dimension to my quilting, with embroidery playing a major role in the blocks, rather than traditional pieced patterns. Free motion quilting gave way to thread painting on landscape photographs printed on fabric. An Embellishing Machine lets me add yarn and wool roving without thread. We are having way too much fun!

Cool things I've done
Family Photo Ball
I printed photographs of our family with their names on inkjet fabric, using my HP Photosmart printer.
Cotton borders were sewn around the photos, sewn together and stuffed with poly batting for a fun baby ball for new cousin Marina.
If the item is going to be laundered, the fabric should be rinsed in cool water & heat set with an iron.
Breast Cancer Quilt
This quilt was created from individual blocks made by customers of our store. The theme was Creativity Blooms and they could use embroidery, traditional quilting, photographs, fibres - anything they could dream up.
The quilt was donated to Party in Pink, the Breast Cancer support group in Burlington Ontario as a fundraiser.
