Make a customized candy tin giftThis is a featured page

This cute and customized gift is adored by everyone in the office -- and not only because it comes with chocolate! It's easy to make (taking less than 15 minutes from start to finish) and can be customized for a variety of occasions or seasons.

Project level: Easy
Time required: 15 minutes or less

Step 1: Watch this short how-to video

The project idea comes from my good friend MaryAnn -- she's HP's resident crafts expert who also oversees our HP Newsgram email newsletter.

Step 2: Gather What You'll Need

See the "What You'll Need" box in the upper right part of the page for a list of items and links I used to make this project.

-- As MaryAnn recommended, I used a page from the Bella Flora Wedding Invitation Kit (available free from the HP Creative Studio).

-- I used Avery Address Labels for Inkjet (8160), which you can get at any office supply store such as Staples, OfficeMax, Office Depot, or even Target.

-- I bought the gift card tins for $1 each at Michael's Craft Store. Each gift card tin comes with a gift tag. If yours don't, the HP Creative Studio has free gift tags projects you can print at home or you could print labels from the Bella Flora Invitation Kit onto HP Brochure and Flyer Paper.

--I bought a bag of individually wrapped chocolate nuggets at the grocery store (I've also seen these at Target).

-- I used regular curling ribbon to embellish.
Wrap the candy with the labels you printed using HP's Bella Flora Wedding Invitation Kit.

Step 3: Wrap the labels around the chocolate

Printing tip: Before I printed the labels, I adjusted the "Properties" for my printer. I set "page scaling" to "none"; I unchecked "auto-rotate and center", and I set printing quality to "best".

Using the labels I printed at home, I wrapped each individual chocolate.

If this pattern isn't your cup of tea, don't worry. The free Bella Flora Wedding Invitation Kit from HP has several styles and colors of invitations available.
Fill the Candy Tin

Step 4: Fill the gift card tin with the wrapped candy

I used about 10 individual chocolate nuggets to fill each gift card tin.
Fill as many candy tins as you want

Step 5: Go crazy! Make gifts to have at the ready!

Fill as many gift tins as you want -- it's great to have a special something on hand and ready to share with friends and family.

I filled several gift card tins that had a variety of colors and patterns.
Embellish and Finish

Final step: Embellish and share

Embellish with a bow or some bling to finish with some flair.

Share and enjoy!
