Scaling an Image for Borderless Printing

How to set up your printer for borderless, 4x6-inch / 10 x 15-cm printing.

1. Load a single 4" x 6" (10 x 15cm) card face down into your printer with the tabbed edge toward you
2. Select File > Print (or click on the document's printer icon).
From the dialog box:

· Check the Auto-rotate and Center box.
3. Open Properties. You’ll do several things here:
a. Set Paper Type to match the paper you’re using.
b.Set Paper Size to Borderless 4 x 6 in. (tab). Or if you’re usingthe Metric setting, set paper size at Borderless 10x15cm (tab). (Note: If you don’t see these options, skip to the instructions below to create a custom size.)
c. Set Print Quality to Best.
d. Set Paper Source to Main tray.
e. Select OK and print your card. Set aside to dry completely.

NOTE: These instructions are for HP color inkjet printers, which load from the front. If your printer loads from the back, please consult your printer’s user guide. Try printing a test page before using any specialty paper.

Creating a custom size

Within the print Properties dialog box:
· Click the Features tab and/or Paper/Quality tab, and under the “Size” option, select Custom.
· Next, name your custom size (for example 4 x 6 photo card)
· Enter the size dimensions. For Width enter 4.00; for Length enter 6.00. Under Units select inches.
· Click Save then click OK and then OK again on the next screen.
· Go back into Properties.
· You will be able to select your custom size by clicking on the Resizing Options drop down, under the More option.
· Check the Borderless box (if available).
· Select Paper Type (for example, “HP Premium Photo paper”).
· Set Print Quality to Best.
· Select OK and print your card. Set aside to dry completely.
