My trip to Thailand was an amazing adventure.
| The culture and lifestyle was incredibly appealing. Roaming around the architecture and history, exploring the beauty of the landscape, and meeting friendly people. I was unsure about the idea of backpacking around initially when my husband and I were planning the trip, but wouldn't have done it any other way! The first thing I reccomend is not to go with too much of an adgenda. Most great things to do and great deals are found when you are there. The lonely planet books were a lifesaver so many times. The warnings they give are VERY accurate. So, when you know the local scams, the situation becomes quite amusing. My favorite scam was the "the palace is closed today, we can take you to other palaces". This is a common one when you are on the side of the palace where you can't tell that they are lying. It was very hard to keep a straight face. Here are some of the photos I took while there. I actually had them blown up to poster size using the HP photosmart express stations. I was very impressed by the quality of the prints. I even tried a low resolution photo I had taken on my old digital camera and the station did a remarkable job at keeping the crispness despite being low res. |
| Floating market in northern Thailand. A fun thing to try once. It is very busy (LA rush hour busy) and very touristy. But there is a comedic charm about the experience | Along the River Kwai in eastern Thailand. If you are willing to rough it, there are some great places to stay along the river. Our hut actually floated on the river. | Boat tours in southern Thailand is a great way to see all the islands. If you have seen the movie, "The Beach", we got to swim at the location that it was filmed. |

I love the way cmdtracy changed the background color for her photos and text. She did it by inserting a table. This is very useful when you don't want a black background, or just want to spice up your page.
