It looks good! Did you keep the scanned image on top of the background color? That makes a difference. Try switching the bottom colors so it is dark/light on top and light/dark on bottom. I played around with so many ways of doing it.... I even published a kids craft project in 'Pack-O-Fun" magazine after we did something similar with an entire grade level in our school - 100 kids all displayed in the hallway, it was so cool! We printed the b/w image on watercolor paper with a laser printed and let the kids paint their images with regular watercolors.
This is one of the great things about digital...you can keep mixing it up until you are satisfied....!!!
