RE: Member needs help to print on fabric for 50th Anniversary quilt!
Jan 28 2008, 4:20 PM EST Our wonderfully dedicated team of HP Craft enthusiasts worked their network of friends and experts over the weekend. MaryAnn Antonelli submitted the following to help this new member: Ok - i did a little research for fabric printing and actually did printing this weekend: I contacted Lynn Koolish - http://www.lynnkoolish.com/book.html who published a book about this with HP - She said that pretty much any inkjet printer including all-in-ones will work, the newer ones that are designed for printing photos often have better quality, but she used many different kinds including an old deskjet that she's had for many years. She also said that if one of newer ones that use the Vivera inks is used, you'd need to let the printed images sit for a few days before you rinse them off. This weekend, I purchased Avery InkJet Printable Cotton Sheets which you can iron or sew on personalized projects - this has a heat-seal backing that bonds to fabric, cardboard, wood and other porous surfaces - it has recommended printers which include: DeskJet 600, 700, 800, 900 series, Photo 1100 I printed a photo using my D7360 and it looked fabulouso using the IJ Printable Fabric sheet See Print on specialty paper: http://h71036.www7.hp.com/hho/cache/345056-0-0-225-121.html Hope this helps!
