RE: Adding people to pictures
Mar 29 2008, 8:17 AM EDT Cutting out people and putting them into other pictures is very cool, but it takes some skill with an image editor such as Adobe PhotoShop Elements. Do you have a program such as this? 5 out of 9 found this valuable. Do you? |

Mar 29 2008, 9:23 AM EDT You will have to watch for big tell tale signs the person was added - shadows, lighting and such... 2 out of 3 found this valuable. Do you? |

RE: Adding people to pictures
Mar 29 2008, 10:22 AM EDT Do you have any type of image editing software that will allow you to "select and cut out" things from the image? Just as a personal warning, these types of image editing programs have a bit of a steep learning curve. I'm hoping someone else jumps on this thread and can recommend an easy solution, but I'm afraid there might not be one. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

RE: Adding people to pictures
Mar 29 2008, 11:00 AM EDT if you do not have any editing programs (digital image pro is a bit easier than elements in my opinion), you can do it manually but it will not look the same.... trim the extra person close to the edges - if you are using photo paper, use a thin felt marker to cover the paper edge. (black will mimic shadow/depth) place them in the original photo - be aware of objects that would normally be in front of the person (table, plant, etc) and trim the person accordingly. for example, if someone is standing behind a sofa, you will not see their legs. do not use permanent adhesive! use repositional glue stick or removable tape to place them in the photo scan the photo at 300 dpi - check the placement and effect (reposition the person if necessary and scan again) (instead of scanning you can take the photo to your local copy shop but copy it yourself, they are trained to ask questions about photo "fixing" and may give you a hard time) 2 out of 3 found this valuable. RE: Adding people to pictures
Apr 3 2008, 3:46 PM EDT HI, I found this easy if the person you want to add is photographed on a solid background, I use Gimp (free image editing software found on the web). I use the fill tool on the background to get it to be one color. then convert the photo to a gif, picking the background color as transparent, I then paste this on top of the photo I want them in as a new layer. Merge the layers and save. 4 out of 4 found this valuable. Do you? |

RE: Adding people to pictures
Apr 3 2008, 6:42 PM EDT Thanks for the tip on Gimp, Creig. I'm going to go check it out. I'm a Photoshop Elements user and while you can do so much with it, it has a steep learning curve. Do you find this valuable? |
