Gave the Warhol look a try...

I liked what you did with your daughter's photo so I thought I'd give it a try myself. I had fun with it but it could still use some work. I posted my attempt in the Photo project gallery: http://expressioncenter.wetpaint.com/page/Photo+Projects Do you find this valuable?

I totally LOVE that image!!!!! That was a good photo to try with the warhol scanning - just enough detail to make it interesting but not so much it gets busy. Try doing a classic Warhol print - do a quad of the image and place different offset colors behind the b/w scan. I have done it with solid backgrounds and also by "painting" messily in elements, laying the line drawing on top (I will try to post an example today).

Once again - Love It!

Ok, I tried the quad effect. I thought I had done okay and then I went back and looked at some images of Warhol's work and realized I didn't get as close as I had thought. :) Still fun though! Take a look: http://expressioncenter.wetpaint.com/page/Photo+Projects Do you find this valuable?

It looks good! Did you keep the scanned image on top of the background color? That makes a difference. Try switching the bottom colors so it is dark/light on top and light/dark on bottom. I played around with so many ways of doing it.... I even published a kids craft project in 'Pack-O-Fun" magazine after we did something similar with an entire grade level in our school - 100 kids all displayed in the hallway, it was so cool! We printed the b/w image on watercolor paper with a laser printed and let the kids paint their images with regular watercolors.

This is one of the great things about digital...you can keep mixing it up until you are satisfied....!!!
