I am wanting to create a quilt with the Sew-in inkjet fabric sheets & was wanting to know if anyone has any tips on preserving the ink & fabric so it doesn't wash out years later or months? 6  out of 10 found this valuable. Do you?

Use the brand June Tailor white fabric sheets & follow the directions. It is time consuming but worth it. Also, use new HP ink cartridges for the project.

I created two memory quilts for my grandchildren Christmas 2006. They have used them on their beds and have had no problems with the photo blocks. I am currently working on a queen-size Memory Quilt for my own personal use. I have changed my photos all to sepia tone and have done forty-two (42) blocks. I use Printed Treasures by Milliken for my photo transfers. You just need to make sure you follow the directions as to rinsing off excess ink and then I press my on the back side to heat set. Hope this will help you with your question. 4  out of 4 found this valuable. Do you?

Good question. Lisa here. I have made several t shirts, quilts &night gowns. All of them I would say "Don't get it dirty" You can't wash it without wrecking it. I finally gave up. I loved that kind of computer work but always have ended not happy. Please share any hints you have received. TY Lisa

Lisa - Janice here. Sorry you have had some bad experiences. Two years ago, I made memory quilts for my two grandchildren as a Christmas gift (they were ages 7 & 9 at the time) and they have been and are using them on their beds. The quilts have been machine washed without any problems. I used an inkjet printer to print out the photos. (used approx. 12 photos on each quilt, 5x7, in color). I heat set my photos after rinsing for several minutes in cold running water and letting dry on towels. I really have not had any problems. I use Printed Treasures photo transfer sheets. They are a little more expensive, but worth it in the long run. 5  out of 5 found this valuable. Do you?

I have the Printed Treasures fabric sheets but I do not have an inkjet printer. Sounds like you really like the results of your photos on these fabric sheets. I am trying to do 8 x 10 photos on a quilt for my Grandaughter. Can you or anyone else suggest which HP inkjet printer to purchase as I have heard they have the best quality photos. As you can tell I am new at this and have already gone thru 3 pkgs of the Printed Treasures photo fabric sheets. I need help. Thank you Do you find this valuable?

I was told to try Bubble Jet Set. You soak the fabric in it. gently remove excess liquid and pour back into the bottle. The fabric when dry is put through the printer using butcher paper or some other adhesive type paper. I found my Bubble Jet set at the Scrapbooking Store. ((Could not find it at JoAnn's Michael's ect.)) But I have gotten really busy and have not tried it out yet. Do you find this valuable?

I made 2 quilts, one with fabric sheets and one with t-shirt transfers, the one with the t-shirt transfer came out the best. Do you find this valuable?
