Hi Wood:I haven't personally taken the digital photography courses, but I have seen some comments from people who have (I work for HP). The responses have been overwhelmingly positive. But you don't need to take my word for it, I hope you'll set aside a few minutes and check 'em out. (In the meantime, I'll post a thread in our Digital Photography blog and link back to your question here to see if our photo members can hook you up with their experience and thoughts about our classes.) The classes are free, but we invest a lot of though and expertise into making them useful, friendly and effective. If you decide to try one, I invite you to share your feedback here with the community. Whether you have praise or constructive criticism, we want to know how best to help our customers pursue their passion for photography (and other ways to express their stories, whether that's through crafts, scrapbooking, art, blogging, writing, and more). You can see the current lineup of digital photography classes (plus more HP classes) here: http://h30240.www3.hp.com/?mcid=hhowikilearn Or go to the Learn page on this Wiki to click and link directly to the HP Classes. I look forward to your feedback! Angela HP Community 4 out of 5 found this valuable. Do you? |

I've taken 4-5 online courses and found them ALL GREAT!! You actually have many opportunities to interact with the teacher and fellow students from all over the world. The latest one I took was the "PC Tune-Up" class - and NOTA MINUTE TOO SOON! Within about a week of course completion, boy did I get into some sticky computer trouble. But NO TROUBLE for me. Just picked up my handbook [they supply you with weekly readings - some quite lengthy - which you can choose to print out and make into your own "tutorials." Well, within a few minutes I found the problem in my class materials, applied the suggested solutions and - bingo! - problem solved! I've certainly not taken them all and perhaps I've just lucked out - but I'd sign up for another one without hesitation. [also, you go at your own pace - if you join the class 1/2 way through you just work a little faster. There is an EASY quiz at the end of each week's material and a printable certificate - suitable for framing! - when you've completed the class. If you have to drop out mid-way, you can just join the next session when it's offered and start off where you started!]Good Luck! Barb 4 out of 4 found this valuable. Do you? |

I have taken almost a dozen of the HP courses and every one of them was great. I learn a lot and I am in the computer field. I love the crafting classes and I took some of the Vista classes and the Linux class. They just started a new Photoshop class. I just signed up the other day. The photoshop elements class was very informative. And they are free too. One would think, that a free class is worth much, but HP does a heck of a job with the classes. Check them out you won't be disappointed.
